Not Dead Yet

Its the most expensive videogame ever made. It's breaking revenue and entertainment records. This is happening at a time that people were writing the console videogame market dead, this was during the peak of Candy Crush, the tablet boom, the Steam Summer Sale, true smartphone penetration, etc. This happened at a time when the current gen of consoles were in their twilight, when the next-gen consoles were already announced and at least THINKING of breaking the current model because it was not feasible for developers and smaller studios. The current system was not sustainable…

Sure, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto might be the exception and not every studio is Rockstar, Ubisoft, etc.

But reports of console videogames demise has been greatly exaggerated.

Grand Theft Auto V is making history, just like Call of Duty and Halo did.
