Next-Gen Conundrum

Playing both ProEvo and FIFA could be a very expensive hobby next season. Should you purchase it for the PS3 in Sep or wait until Nov/Dec for the PS4? Or both?

Same question for games like Madden and NBA and even non-sports franchises like Watch Dogs.

Obviously, any game that releases the same day on both the PS3 and PS4 or 360 and Xbox One won't be much of an issue - unless the next-gen versions are rushed or stripped down (with a promise of a definite/completed version later).

…and of course, the price. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/05/31/will-fifa-14-cost-90-pounds_n_3363876.html

We have already seen this with the ushering in of the HD era. The 360 raised the standard price for games from $49.99 to $59.99…will we see a $69.99, $79.99 price point?

Imagine playing $70.00 for a game and not really owning it, and/or not being able to play it where you don't have an internet connection!

"At some point, it's fair to assume, Microsoft may decide they want to stop supporting that game or their new console. If a connection, even an occasional one, is required to play the game, what happens then to my library of titles?"
